Freedom Farmers Pro Review (My Honest Assessment Of What You’ll Get)

My wife and I have been on Freedom Farmers' email newsletter for a while now, and when they posted that anyone could get access to all of their courses and connect with fellow homesteaders for a certain fee, I jumped at the opportunity.

Actually, it took a little convincing with the wifey first, but after I got her on board, we decided to purchase it and see what all the hype was all about.

So, what exactly is Freedom Farmers, Their Pro membership, and is it worth it? Find out all this and more in the contents below!

What is Freedom Farmers?

Freedom Farmers is an online platform dedicated to supporting and educating urban farmers, small rural farmers, homesteaders and homesteader-wannabes (well, farmer-wannabes too for that matter).

Boasting of over half a million subscribers, Freedom Farmers helps each of them in sharpening their skills and becoming more independent through modern farming practices. Their offerings are designed to make growing one's own food easy, profitable, and purposeful.

Inside, they provide a variety of online courses that offer step-by-step frameworks to help learners achieve their desired outcomes in farming.

Additionally, they have a streaming app, called From The Field TV, with content exclusive to the platform, and offer personalized video answers to user questions from favorite content creators. Most of those who watch it call it the “Netflix for farmers” and receives high marks for its value (see below).

When you sign up for their newsletter, Freedom Farmers will also send out to you free advice, updates, and insights about farming and homesteading directly to your inbox.

They are trusted by thousands of both new and experienced growers, as evidenced by the positive testimonials from users who have seen significant improvements in their farming ventures after taking courses from Freedom Farmers.

What Is Freedom Farmers Pro?

Freedom Farmers Pro is the membership that Freedom Farmers recently launched back in September/October 2023. It's a robust platform for those seeking to deepen their agricultural knowledge and connect with others in the same or similar situation as them.

Freedom Farmers Pro was designed to provide tools, resources, and even support needed to help achieve freedom, security, and abundance through farming and homesteading.

Inside you'll find their entire course library, virtual events and meetups, a social network/private messaging system, a supplies/seed store, and even a homestead listing directory.

Let's jump right into it, and discuss each feature in detail, and my personal review of it!

Freedom Farmers Pro offers an extensive course library that is ever-expanding, providing members with a wealth of knowledge on various topics essential for successful farming and homesteading.

With each course normally costing around $550 each, their Pro membership is the way to go for the best bang for your buck.

When joining, you'll have access to a growing library of over 20 courses, with new courses being added regularly.

I love this, because when they make any new courses, as long as you're part of their Pro membership, you'll get access to those courses.

Courses include a diverse range of subjects, such as storing and preserving the food your grow, how to start your own mini farm, raising different types of livestock (for profit), and much, much more.

Andy's Honest Assessment On The Course Library (9/10)

Overall, I was extremely pleased with all the courses that they had, how detailed and informative they were, and the in-depthness (if that could be a word) of each of them.

I obviously didn't go through every single one of them (yet!), but the ones that I did preview provided the information in such a way where it didn't feel like it was a lecture.

It was more of “let me take you on this journey while you learn” type of courses.

There were a few things that could be better – and I'm really just nitpicking at this point – but I think that the lessons could have been longer.

I like to sit down and watch something for several hours at a time – especially if I'm trying to go through something quickly. I'll throw the caption on and turn it up to 2X speed (I said I like going through stuff quickly, haha)

But it gets a little annoying when every three to 5 minutes I have to play the next video, put captions on and in the video playback speed.

For example, in the Start Your Profitable Mini Farm course, they have three separate videos about the pros and cons of poultry, beef, and pork. the total watch time of all three videos is a little over 12 minutes.

You could easily combine them together, and (should be able to) add in a way where people can just jump to the section of pros and cons they're looking for.

Another thing I think I would have liked to see is an actual transcript that we could read. I'm not talking about captions – Each video has captions enabled (which is great!).

If I'm trying to see if a lesson, section, or course is something I want to go through, I oftentimes like to quickly read a few of the video transcripts, to see if this is something I want to watch.

Also, the transcript is nice when you've watched something, and want to revisit a certain section of information. Instead of having to watch the video through again, you can just skim or search the transcript to find the info.

But, like I said, these are just some minor quibbles. Overall, I would rate the actual course content with a 9/10. They deliver a ton of value in each of these courses, and, at the end of that day, that is what most of us are looking for).

Freedom Farmers Pro also includes a comprehensive Private Social Network that serves as a dedicated space for members to connect, share ideas, and collaborate on their farming ventures.

This network is designed to foster a sense of community among gardeners, farmers, entrepreneurs, and homesteaders, providing them with the tools to communicate effectively and support each other's growth.

Andy's Honest Assessment On The Private Social Network (6+/10)

To be honest, this is probably my biggest complaint of the entire membership.

And that is that the social network doesn't really feel as universal or connected as it could be.

When I first joined, I joined mainly to see if I could get connected with fellow homesteaders – guys and gals who were trying to build their little patch of heaven out and looking for a supportive community to do that.

But, it really only felt like it was just an expanded version of their micro-greens course/membership (if they had one).

Most of the chatter was around their micro-greens course, and most of the forums were around that, or just didn't include other aspects of homesteading that I was sort of looking for.

To be fair, they are doing better – most of the chatter is now about finding a good property and micro-greens, and they've updated their forums to reflect some of the other aspects.

The actual social networking though feels like it could be improved upon. It would be nice to see “follow suggestion”, where it shows me other people who have similar skills or are in the same area as me, so that we can connect and learn from each other.

So overall, I can definitely see improvement in Freedom Farmers Pro being a more well-rounded community, but it does have a lot of work to be done still.

Discount Supplies Shop

The supplies have been specifically recommended by the course creators of Freedom Farmers Pro.

These recommendations are based on what has been proven to work effectively in various farming and homesteading scenarios.

Because of this, you can be sure that the quality of the products you're purchasing are some cheap knock off that's going to break the first time you use it.

Another benefit of the Freedom Farmers Pro shop is access to exclusive discounts when you purchase certain products.

These discounts allow members to purchase high-quality supplies at reduced prices, making it more affordable to run a farm or homestead.

Andy's Honest Assessment On The Discount Supply Shop (8/10)

Overall, there isn't really much that I can complain about here – they deliver exactly what they said they would.

The only thing I would find more beneficial is trying to work with more partners to get more discounts, since it looks like it's really only ordering from Natural Yield where you'll get a discount.

But overall, I like that this feature gives me exactly what I'll need to set up anything (or mostly anything) discussed about in the courses. At the end of the day, it's a win-win situation for you and the company your purchasing from.

Homestead Listing Directory

And last, but definitely not least, Freedom Farmers Pro provides its members with an exclusive Homestead Listing Directory, a valuable tool for anyone in the market for properties that meets the specific needs of the homesteading and farming lifestyle.

These properties are chosen based on a variety of criteria that are going to be more important to a homesteader. (To understand the criteria they look for, you just need to go through the Finding the Perfect Homestead Property course.)

Additionally, to better help you find the perfect match for their homesteading aspirations, the directory includes the ability to filter it based on:

• Climate: You can search for properties based on the climate zone, which allows you to find locations that match your farming or lifestyle preferences.
• Geography: The directory allows filtering by geographical features, which is crucial for determining the type of farming that can be done or the kind of environment you wish to live in.

Andy's Honest Assessment On The Homestead Directory Listings (9/10)

Once again, I can't really complain here. They deliver just what they said they would.

I especially like that they have a way that if you have a property you're looking to sell, then you can send it for them to look at and potentially list in their directory.

If I had to nitpick at the listings, then I would say that I was a little disappointed at how little listings there were for less than $200K listings.

My wife and my current plan is to purchase our first homestead property outright with cash. However, we're not that rich (yet), and don't currently have $250K-$500K to shell out for an A or B rated homestead.

I also realize that this directory is looking for the best of the best properties, so it's not necessarily geared towards people in my situation. But a guy can wish, right?

Overall, the extra due diligence that they do and the info they provide with you is well worth it, whether your looking to just purchase one homestead property or multiple ones.

Is Freedom Farmers Pro Worth it? (Overall: 8/10)

Freedom Farmers Pro is still in the early phases of growing, which is good, but also bad at times.

This membership is definitely worth it if you are looking for some solid courses to go through to better your homesteading/farming lifestyle. Getting a store, homestead directory listings, and community of like minded people is a plus too.

While the Private Network feature is still being built to be more rounded, you can definitely see the improvements being made month after month.

So, all that to say…

Freedom Farmers Pro is definitely worth it, and is very affordable and valuable for those willing to invest in their future. You'll gain a ton of information, be able to network out with others, and build a much, much better version of your homestead than you would without this membership
